S.L.P. Anjaneya Sarma was among the scholars versed in two or more śāstras who were honoured at a ceremony on the occasion of the 10th annual celebration of the Akhila Bhārata Veda Śāstra Vidvatsammelanam, in Duvva, Andhra Pradesh, on 5th and 6th January 2019.


Dr. S. Lakshiminarasimham and Prof. K. V. Ramakrishnamacharyalu, both Senior researchers at the Indology Department of the French Institute of Pondicherry, were selected for receiving the Certificate of Honour from the Govt. of India for the year 2017 for their outstanding contribution to Sanskrit studies. This Award will be handed over to them by the Hon'ble President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind.

Dr. G. Saravanan, librarian at the French Institute received the Mr. G.G. Sivakumar Memorial Special Appreciation and Meritorious Service Award for the year 2017.

PhD Theses


Priyanka AVULA, IFP Fellow from 2014 to 2017, successfully defended her PhD thesis "Maxims in Paninian Grammar - A Critical Study" under the guidance of Dr. S. Lakshminarasimham of the Indology Department on 2nd August 2018.

Dibakami KRUTARTHA, IFP Fellow from 2014 to 2017, successfully defended his PhD thesis titled "The Military Administration in the Arthasastra from Modern Perspective" under the guidance of Dr. Deviprasad Mishra on 24th October 2018.
