Development Finance Workshop - Programme

French Institute of Pondicherry (www.ifpindia.org) in collaboration with Centre for Financial Accountability, New Delhi (www.cenfa.org) is organizing a two day Training Workshop in “Development Finance” on the 19th and 20th of August 2019, at the French Institute of Pondicherry, in Pondicherry. The training will be tailored to the needs of students, scholars and civil society organizations interested in development studies in relation to corporate and infrastructure finance, banking reforms and challenges, changes in the financial mechanisms of particular sectors like energy in India would benefit from the workshop. The Department of Social Sciences at the IFP is organizing this workshop as part of its continuing work in the area of labour and finance under the emerging developmental regime, both at the national and international levels. It is also part of its ongoing Project on Fishercoast, which studies the large scale transformations underway in the coastal regions of Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra due to energy and infrastructure projects, clearly fueled by financial dynamics. The Social Sciences Department is committed towards understanding the changing functions and place of money in the working lives of people and we welcome enthusiastic participants inclined towards sharing our concerns.
