Mr. D. Balasubramanian successfully defends his PhD thesis

We are very happy to inform you that Mr. D. Balasubramanian, Research Engineer at the "GeoSpatial Monitoring and Information Technology" (GeoSMIT) Department of the IFP (formerly known as LIAG), successfully defended, at a public Viva Voce held on October 23, 2017 at the Department of Anthropology of the University of Madras, his PhD thesis entitled 'Democratic practices in technology and developing societies'. This thesis is an ethnographic account of the free software communities in India and traces their evolution, politics and practices in the context of Indian society.
