Intruder Alert! India Biodiversity Portal Organizes Invasive Species Campaign

The India Biodiversity Portal is organizing an invasive species campaign through the month of August 2015: Spotting Alien Invasive Species or “SPAIS”. India Biodiversity Portal (IBP) is an online, open-access repository of information on India’s biodiversity. It has already conducted several campaigns involving citizens in documenting, contributing and sharing biodiversity information from diverse parts of the country. With the SPAIS campaign, IBP and its partners aim to create awareness about, and to map the occurrences of, a set of widespread invasive species in India.

The IFP stands by the freedom of the press

The staff members of the French Institute of Pondicherry will be observing a one minute silence at the "French War Memorial" on January 8, 2015 at 4.30 pm in homage to the victims of the tragic shooting that occurred in Paris on January 7, 2015, which left 12 people dead and many wounded at the Paris office of the French satirical magazine "Charlie Hebdo". French President Francois Hollande has declared that January 8, 2015, will be a day of national mourning in France and the French flag will be lowered to half-staff for 3 days in all French public institutions.
