Prof. N.S.R. Tatacharya awarded the 2016 "Padma Bhushan" by the Indian Government

Prof. N.S. Ramanuja Tatacharya, first Vice-Chancellor of Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha, Tirupati,  and Honorary Professor at the French Institute of Pondicherry (IFP), has been selected for the ‘Padma Bhushan’ award for the year 2016 by the Government of India for his outstanding contribution to Sanskrit language and literature.

Release of the book "Shadows of Gods" by François Hollande and Narendra Modi

The book "Shadows of Gods: an archive and its images" jointly published by the French Institute of Pondicherry (IFP) and the Pondicherry Centre of the French School of Asian Studies (EFEO), will be released in New Delhi on January 25, 2016 by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President François Hollande on the occasion of his visit to India as the Chief Guest for the country's 67th Republic Day.

Celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the IFP on 6th November 2015 in New Delhi

The French Institute of Pondicherry (IFP), the largest of the research institutes dependent on the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development (MAEDI), will be celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2015. The celebrations will be taking place in New Delhi on 6 November, 2015, and in Pondicherry on 18 and 19 November 2015. This anniversary will bear witness to 60 years of high level scientific cooperation between France and India.
