Round Table Conference on HIV/AIDS

Accueil > Actualités > Séminaires & Evènements

This conference brought together Indian anthropologists and professionals from NGOs, to organize at the Indian national level a network of researchers in social sciences, primarily of anthropologists, to develop research on the cultural dimensions of the epidemic.

The programme developed at IFP was identified by the organizers as a reference which can be used on other Indian sites, and discussions for collaboration are ongoing. Requests were sought for training Indian researchers in social sciences for putting up a research on the cultural dimensions of the epidemic. For this, IFP was identified as a center of expertise.

The acts of this cooperative Indo-French seminar organized at IFP were coordinated by P. Cohen and S. Solomon (YRG Care) and are in their last phase before publication. They will put together the oral presentations, all the debates and the complementary contributions of French and Indian specialists contacted later on. This publication could be regarded as the first tangible contribution of this programme, useful for understanding the themes.
