L’AJEI decided to make its sixth edition of its work shop once again in North India at the department of History, University of Calcutta. The two day seminar elaborated the debate on the question of relations between collective identity and territorial concept, opening up an Indo French dialogue.
This concept has always fascinated political science researchers the world over and which has been an important factor that has governed systems within and outside territories. At times destabilization of a national territory has been the result of internal fights (social, cultural or political) which translates itself into reality by a refusal to open and a reason to sink back on its identity. Sometimes it finds its origins in the chaotic history of international relations and in the absence of an open dialogue with neighbors. The geopolitics well represented in this seminar brings out a complementary explanation in the ways to apprehend territory and to play with the scales of analysis that transcends between the micro/global to the macro/global and vice versa.
