Research fields:

I am specialized in the anthropology of science and medicine in South Asia. My work concerns the social transformation of Indian and Tibetan medicines and the Indian therapeutic landscape, ideas of medical efficacy, the political anthropology of healing, pharmaceutical innovation in traditional medicine, intellectual property rights, trans-national healthcare and medical tourism.
