Collection Ecologie

Over 8 500 books and articles, 101 current journals. Devoted to ecology, forestry, agroforestry, botany, palynology, pedology, cartography, agronomy, paleontology etc. It includes a comprehensive collection of books on forest ecology in South India, especially in the Western Ghats.

The collection is also rich in books on Indian flora (around 650 documents) as well as on Indian medicinal plants. It has around 400 books on environmental studies and 200 books on climatology. The climatology collection includes Tamil Nadu and Karnataka weather reports for the period 1901-2000 and monthly and annual rainfall data for India from 1901 to 1950. Many ecological journals are received by the library in exchange from other institutions, Indian and foreign.
