November 27 M. Augendra BHUKUTH, PhD student at the University of Saint Quentin en Yvelines, France. He is working on Financial Constraints justifying child labour.

September Giorgi PKHAKADZE, Ph. D student from Madras University joined the department the Department.

September 15 - March 15, 2004 Mr. R. RAVIKULARAMAN PhD student from Pondicherry University joined the department and will work on his project "Typology of Micro finance organisations".

September 8 - December 8 Mr. S. SARAVANAN will be in the department and will be working on the micro finance project.

July - September Ms. Karine FROUIN, Agronomic Engineer Student and Post Graduate in Economics, France is working under the guidance of Isabelle GUERIN on Microfinance and Governance.

July 10 - July 9, 2003 Mr. Shailesh Ranjan MAHAPATRA, PhD student at Sambalpur University under the guidance of Prof. S.S. Rath, is presently affiliated as a research scholar at the IFP. He is working on Micro Finance and Migration

July 1 - January 2004 Ms. Jane PALIER PhD student in Lumiere University Lyon 2. She is working under the guidance of Prof. Jean-Michel Servet on Microfinance and Empowerment.

October 2003 Carlos MENA, Ph. D student at the Dept of South and Southeast Asian Studies, University of California at Berkeley is affiliated to the IFP.

September 2003 Timothy LUBIN, Associate Professor, Dept of Religion, Washington and Lee University, Virginia, is affiliated to the IFP in the Dept of Indology.

July 31 - August 21 Ms. Corinne LAGARDE-CHAPDELAINE, professor and doctoral student at the University of Paris III was at the Institute working on her thesis "Poetry and Grammar" - Kavya-Vyakarana-Bhattikavya Panini.

June 29 - July 28 Ms. Emilie AUSSANT, doctoral student from the University of Paris III was at the Institute.She was working on the project "Indian Grammatical Tradition"

Département d’Ecologie

October 15, 2003 - October 14, 2004 Mr. Arun K SHREEDHAR and Mr. Jitemdra Kumar PATTNAIK from Earth Sciences, Pondicherry University, PhD students were with the IFP on a training in basic and quantitative palynological techniques to problems in earth system sciences under the project "Palaeoenvironments in South India".

September 2003 ASLAM, junior research fellow joined the IFP in this department.

Septmber 15 - March 2004 Ms. Srilatha, software developer was affiliated to the department for 6 months and will be working on the project "Palaeoenvironments - Web based pollen data. Interlinking pollen database.

Laboratoire de Géomatique & Informatique Appliquée

November 12-22 Dr. Gerard BOURGEON, Soil scientist form CIRAD, France worked with Dr. B.R. Ramesh in the laboratory of Geomatics on the ongoing Landscape analysis for biodiversity conservation in the Western Ghats Project.

July 15 - August 30 Mr. Adrien GRIMAL, student from the Ecole Centrale Paris, worked as part of his engineering degree "Datum and Map Projection used in India".

Centre de Ressources Documentaires

October 8-12 Omkar N SAFAPURI, Honorary Consultant DELNET and NANDEESHA M. Network Assistant, DELNET, Bangalore Office, visited the Documentation Centre and made a short presentation on DELNET (DEVELOPING LIBRARY NETWORK) - New Delhi. A major Resource Sharing Library Network in South Asia.
