Self-financing of the IFP’s publications

Home > News

Since 2003, the IFP has made considerable effort to improve – both in terms of quality and quantity — its scientific production. This effort has particularly focused on publications. Publications and co-publications have represented a non-negligible part of the Institute’s expenditure. It was therefore necessary to widen their distribution in order to increase revenue from sales.

The table below clearly indicates that the revenue has regularly and considerably (in percentage) increased from 2002 to 2007, on the one hand, and on the other hand, that the Institute now “self-finances” its publications and co-publications.

This remarkable result is credited to the team led by Anurupa NAIK (Chief Librarian) who has efficiently, on the one hand, contributed to the reorganization of the “edition” cell of the IFP, and has, on the other hand, organised a thorough publicity of the productions of the Institute ("mailing", distribution agreements, advertisements, book reviews in the press, distribution of the publication catalogue, participation in exhibitions).
