Reference publications on the biodiversity of the Western Ghats by the IFP

The release of the latest book published by the Department of Ecology of the IFP (« Forest landscapes of the Southern Western Ghats, India: biodiversity, human ecology and management strategies ») has been praised both by specialists in biodiversity conservation and by the press, with the Daily “The Hindu” having honoured it with an extensive report in its August 21, 2007 edition.
While at it, the Department of Ecology took the initiative of gathering the best researchers specialists in the forests of the western Ghats with a view to edit a more extended synthesis (« The Western Ghats of Indian, a biodiversity hotspot ») having as a vocation, to take stock of the knowledge gained on the physical environment, the fauna and the flora, as well as their interactions with human societies and the conservation stakes.
