Prof. N.S. Ramanuja TATACHARYA has just been awarded the title « SHASTRAKALPADRUMA »

Professor Navalpakkam Ramanuja TATACHARYA, associated professor and researcher at the French Institute of Pondicherry (IFP), leading authority in the fields of shastras (sciences) that are the Nyaya, the Vyakarana, the Mimamsa and the Vedanta, was awarded the title « SHASTRAKALPADRUMA » by Mr. Kapil SIBAL, Minister for Human Resource Development of the Government of India, during a ceremony which was held at the Rashtriya Sanskrit Samsthan in New-Delhi on September 12, 2009.

This title, along with several other previous ones, rewards his numerous scholarly works, and more specifically the Sabdabodhamimamsa, an inquiry into Indian theories of verbal cognition.
