Networked project on urban development
Home > News

A project coordinated by Philippe CADENE, professor at the University of Paris 7 (Mixt Resarch Unit SEDET / CNRS-University Paris 7) and head of the project "Urban Dynamics" at the IFP, just received a grant for funds from the Agence Nationale de la Recherche (National Agency for Research, ANR / France)
The objective of this project (“CITADAIN: "Comparing Integration of Territories and Adaptation of Law in the Arab and Indian world”) is to study, in a resolutely comparative perspective, the judicial factors of economic and urban development of megapolises in India, in the Near East and in the Persian Gulf and, to put in place a method of reproducible measure of the degree of “megalopolisation”.
Two centres of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (IFP in India and IFPO of Beirut) are associated with SEDET to conduct this ambitious project, which will unite geographers specialised on the “urban question” and law specialists.
