Launching of the online catalogue of the documentary resources of the IFP

The IFP officially launched, on December 18, 2007, the online catalogue of its documentary resources, in the presence of the Minister for Education of the Government of Puducherry, the Consul General of France in Pondicherry and Chennai, and numerous invitees (researchers, librarians, members of cultural institutions, etc.).

This catalogue, accessible on the Internet, contains the entire collection of books of the Institute (59000 documents in the domains of Indology, Social Sciences and Ecology) and allows to search and display, for the first time in India, records in Indian scripts (Sanskrit, Tamil etc.) and in Roman transliteration (for the books in Indology). It also enables to display the list of recent acquisitions made by the library.
