Launching of a Digital Database on the website of the IFP
Home > News

The IFP officially posted a Digital Database online on its website, on August 12, 2008, in the presence of the Minister of Education of the Government of Pondicherry, of the Consul General of France in Pondicherry and Chennai and of numerous invitees (researchers, academics, members of cultural institutions, etc.)
This Database contains all the computer applications developed at the Institute since 2003. The aim is to, on the one hand, archive all these applications in a same address, and, on the other hand, to allow a wide audience to freely access these resources.
This base, which will be progressively completed, comprises notably:
- Applications (software) conceived for an online usage (« Historical Atlas of South India », « Identification of weed species of North India’s paddy fields », etc.) ;
- CD-ROMs, in a form adapted to WEB consultation ;
- Interactive maps (« Webmapping ») of the vegetation of the Western Ghats.
