In the framework of its “Microfinance and socially sustainable development” program, the IFP is organizing from February 7th to 9th , 2006, in partnership with the Population and Development Laboratory (UMR IRD –University of Provence), the Institute for Human Development and the International Labour Office, an international seminar addressing the present forms of labour in South Asia.

By combining the views of various disciplines (anthropology, history, economics) as well as different scales of analysis (micro/macro), the objective is to collectively ponder on the day-to-day living, of forms of casualization of labour and to the factors contributing to this casualization.

Among the 28 speakers selected (from France, Great Britain, India, Pakistan, Holland, Switzerland) are some of the best specialists in this field.

Two joint publications are to be edited following this seminar.
