Departure of the Director of the IFP, Dr. Jean-Pierre Muller

The French Institute of Pondichery (IFP) held a reception on Thursday August 21, 2008, on the occasion of the departure of its director, Dr Jean-Pierre Muller. The Consul General of France in Pondicherry and Chennai, numerous personalities, partners and friends of the Institute and the staff were present.

Dr B.R. Ramesh, research director at the Institute, pronounced, on behalf of the staff, a farewell speech in which he thanked the director for his commitment to developing the Institute (defining priorities and clear objectives, increased sense of responsibility instilled to researchers, greater number of partnerships, search for external funding, active communication policy, promotion of resources, salary revision of the local staff, etc.). He wished that the fresh impetus thereby instilled during five years, which resulted in a considerable increase in the productivity and visibility of the IFP in the World, be pursued after his departure.
