A new server for the IFP
Home > News

The IFP has acquired a new server built on latest specifications and a considerable amount of storage.
Besides taking care of the IFP’s website and its mail and ftp services, this server now allows:
On the one hand, to house important digital databases (Historical Atlas of South India, CD-ROMs on Indian cultural knowledge and heritage, interactive database on towns of India, digitised manuscripts, photo archives, catalogue of the IFP’s library,…etc.) and open-source software designed by the IFP [weed identification and computer-aided mapping (WEB Mapping), for example] ;
On the other hand, to allow the use of sophisticated software, notably mapping software (“Web Mapping) and for modeling complex systems.
A database ("Digital Database") is under construction.
